Block Party

Boys LOVE to throw things, so when I have boys in the studio, one of my favorite tricks is to have them throw balls or whatever at me. Big B was in the house today for his most recent portrait session, and I "caught" his throw with perfect timing. He's a Southpaw with a Major League Arm!

Big E.

Baby B.

Baby B. is just a precious little dumpling! This is from her second Sprout Club session. Six months, look at that hair!

Family B.

This is the second year I've photographed these guys, and I always feel like I'm looking into my future: the brothers are all spaced about 3.5 to 4 years apart, as are my three boys. The oldest brother here is going to be asking for the car keys before too long! We always have a blast and make some great portraits.

Family Portraits

As a studio photographer, one of my favorite things to hear from parents is how much their children enjoyed the portrait sessions.

Most people have this vision of studio portraiture that involves getting all dressed up in clothes you would never wear and experiencing something about as exciting as a trip to the dentist.

Kristin and I really work hard to create a lively, fun environment so kids can be themselves! Look at that sparkle in their eyes. That's how you know they are having a good time. :-)

Toni's Bea

Our friend Toni from Highland Pet recently fulfilled a lifelong dream by getting her first bull terrier, Bea.

Most people know the breed from the 80s Budweiser ads featuring Spuds Mackenzie. More recently, the Target dog (who has his own Facebook page) is a Bull Terrier.

Toni brought Bea in and we made the above fabulous portrait. Bea has a real sweet tooth, and kept trying to eat Calder's lollipop!
