Daisy - Mutt of the Week

Our Mutt of the Week is Daisy, a Toy Poodle/Chihuahua mix. Please be sure to check out our Facebook page to find out about The Mutt Project, and nominate your favorite scruffster. 

Daisy's story:

We found Daisy in an ad in the AJC newspaper in December of 2005. When we went to look for Daisy, I told myself that I was not going to go home with a puppy, and that I was simply curious about what the outcome of a black toy poodle and a tan Chihuahua would look like.  When we arrived at the horse farm where she was born it was stormy and dark.  I peeked into a horse stall to find that Daisy was the only puppy left in her litter of 4. 

She weighed just under 2 pounds and could fit into the palm of my hand.  She had hair that looked like chicken feathers and she could barely balance on her toothpick legs.  As soon as she saw me, she stumbled over to greet me and cuddled into my hands. It was love at first sight.

Today, Daisy weighs 10 pounds and loves to use her long skinny legs to run!  She loves to sprint long distances and catch her full size floppy frisbees. She enjoys being chased, being cuddled and chewing her bones.  Daisy keeps us healthy; she gets us outside in the fresh air; she comforts us when we're down, and she entertains us with adorable personality. 

 We always joke that she will never win any beauty contests, but she is surely in the running for Miss Congeniality.
