Book project, continued...
Nicholas and Tim and I continued working on our "Ribbon" book project this past weekend, starting on Sunday with a full day at the studio, five models, tons of hair and makeup and ribbon. By the end of the day, we had maxed out on coffee and sugar and the whole shoot took on the appearance of an ADD conference.
I managed to retain enough energy to pack up all my gear for the following day's production at The Biltmore downtown. Novare Events was very gracious and allowed us to use both of the ballrooms for the session. Nick and Tim and Catherine, our florist, set up four unique table tops with stunning floral centerpieces, silver, china, cane back chairs and more. We spent over six hours just photographing the table tops, then had another five hours with our five models. I was pretty well spent by the end of the day, and I decided to get some odd angles on the last look by lying on the floor on my back, which was -- for maple -- surprisingly comfortable.
One of the only downsides about a project like this is that the images are embargoed until the book is published, meaning that I can't use them on my blog or my website for nearly another year. But if you're in the studio, I'll be glad to give you a sneak peek. Just ask!
