Imaging USA

Just back from Imaging USA in San Antonio. My first trip to San Antonio, and I just fell in love with the River Walk. Now added to my list of favorite American cities! An ice storm (yes, you read that correctly, an ice storm in Texas) swept in and kept me there an extra day.

During the convention, I had a chance to sit down with master photographer and educator Monte Zucker, who despite suffering from pancreatic cancer still found time to share his insight with his fellow photographers.

I spent an hour with Monte. Although he found a few he didn't like, he was very complimentary about my portrait portfolio, as well as my studio still life work. I furiously took notes while he critiqued. I'm ashamed to admit I didn't get a photograph with him.

**UPDATE** Monte Zucker passed away March 15, 2007. Now I'm really sad I didn't get a photograph with him.
